Chris George, Certified Financial Planner

Chris is passionate about helping his professional clients grow and protect their savings, and believes one of the best ways of doing so is to prevent tax loss. From starting out in wealth management in 2008, Chris found his interests and skills to be in the strategic use of insurance and financial planning, and began to solve his clients’ tax problems they were currently facing and what they were anticipated to be in the future. Developing strategies and educating his clients by making complex strategies simple turned his clients into his advocates.
Chris is passionate about constantly learning and improving his knowledge and skillset to better advise his clients. Chris is a Certified Financial Planner (CFP) and a Chartered Life Underwriter (CLU), a Certified Health Insurance Specialist (CHS), and a Registered Trust and Estate Practitioner (TEP). As a special note, Chris earned the highest marks in Canada in 2011 on the national CFP exam, and was awarded First Place on FP Canada’s President’s List.
In addition to having the highest designations, Chris regularly attends and hosts industry conferences as a Top of the Table member of MDRT, an Active Member of CALU, STEP, and Advocis.
Chris is also heavily involved with giving back to the financial services, and is the past President of the Fraser Valley Estate Planning Council, serves on multiple Advocis and The Institute committees, is the Focus Area Specialist for MDRT Canada Membership Committee, has spoken at MDRT Annual and Top of the Table meetings, and is a MDRT Director for the Annual Meeting

Marc, a founding partner of Broadreach Strategic Planning Inc., is a Certified Financial Planner dedicated to working closely with his professional clients to create tailored financial strategies. Through a thorough, collaborative approach, he gains a deep understanding of each client’s personal aspirations, family priorities, business objectives, and financial concerns. This insight allows him to craft detailed financial plans that seamlessly integrate sophisticated strategic planning with the unique needs of his clients and their loved ones.
Marc holds a Bachelor of Commerce from the University of British Columbia’s Sauder School of Business and is a proud Certified Financial Planner. He is actively involved in the financial planning community as a member of the Financial Planning Standards Council, Advocis, the Fraser Valley Estate Planning Council, and the Million Dollar Roundtable—an international network recognizing the top 1% of financial professionals worldwide. Beyond his work in Canada, Marc is an engaged entrepreneur, serving as the Managing Director of P.T. Biosolutions Indonesia, his family’s water treatment business in Jakarta. This company delivers eco-friendly water treatment solutions in a region where such services are critically needed.
Charity is a driving force in Marc’s life. He co-leads Team Better Outcomes, raising funds for oral cancer research and treatment, riding in memory of his father, Rudy Schouten. Through his Indonesian business, he supports underserved communities by providing direct aid and point-of-use water filtration systems to those in need. Marc also champions causes like Seva Canada, which has restored sight to over 5 million people in developing countries since 1982; Operation Smile Canada, offering cleft palate surgeries for children since 1982; and Stella’s Voice, which provides safe housing, education, and life skills to protect Eastern European orphans from human trafficking. On a personal level, Marc cherishes his role as a father and values time with his family. He’s an avid traveller, an enthusiastic home cook, and a lover of classic motorcycles—particularly his 1964 BMW R50/2 and 1994 BMW R100GS (affectionately dubbed “the Bumblebee”). He also enjoys tennis, road cycling, snowboarding, and staying deeply connected to his community.
